Reports
The "Reports" section manages how the complaint system for messages works in your chat.
Here, you decide:
- Whether reports are enabled at all.
- Whether complaints are only sent to administrators.
- Whether the bot can automatically delete messages based on user reports.
How the Report Settings Are Structured
The section has two main operating modes:
- Only sending complaints to administrators.
- Sending complaints to administrators + automatic message deletion.
If you only enable the report system itself, Imperium Guard will forward complaints to administrators for review.
If you additionally configure the automatic deletion parameters, the bot can automatically delete messages when they receive a sufficient number of relevant reports.
What is Required for the Section to Work
For the report settings to work, two conditions must be met:
- The report system is enabled in the "Reports" section.
- The chat has an administrator channel configured.
Without this, users will not be able to properly submit complaints about messages.
How to Configure the Section
- Open the settings using the /settings command.
- Go to the "Reports" section.
- Enable the report system.
- Choose whether you only need manual review of complaints or also automatic deletion.
- If automatic deletion is needed, fill in all related parameters.
Section Parameters
Report System
This is the main switch for the section.
If it is disabled:
- Message reports do not work.
- Other report parameters are not practically meaningful.
If it is enabled:
- Users can report messages.
- The bot sends reports to administrators.
Minimum Number of Reports from a Reporter
This parameter determines how many reports a user must have submitted before their reports are taken into account for automatic message deletion.
The purpose of this setting is to ensure that the bot does not overly trust new or random reporters.
The higher the value:
- The more cautious the automatic deletion works.
- The less influence new users have on automatic message deletion.
Minimum Reporter Rating
This parameter determines the minimum quality rating that a user must have for their reports to be included in automatic deletion.
The higher the value:
- The stricter the selection of users whose reports influence automatic deletion.
- The less likely it is that a message will be deleted due to weak or random reports.
Number of Reports Before Deletion
This parameter sets the number of matching reports that must be received before the bot automatically deletes a message.
The lower the value:
- The faster messages will be deleted.
- The more aggressive the system will be.
The higher the value:
- The more cautious the automatic deletion will be.
- The more confirmations from users will be required.
When Automatic Deletion Works
Automatic deletion is not enabled by a separate button, but by a set of parameters.
It only starts working when all three settings are specified:
- Minimum number of reports from a reporter.
- Minimum reporter rating.
- Number of reports before deletion.
If any of these settings are not filled in, reports will only be sent to administrators, without automatic message deletion.
How to Choose the Operating Mode
Option 1: Only Manual Review of Complaints
This is suitable if you want each complaint to be reviewed by an administrator.
To do this:
- Enable the report system.
- Do not fill in the automatic deletion parameters.
In this mode, the bot only forwards complaints to administrators.
Option 2: Complaints + Automatic Deletion
This is suitable if you have a large number of users and want to quickly hide controversial or obviously problematic messages.
To do this:
- Enable the report system.
- Set a minimum number of reports from a reporter.
- Set a minimum reporter rating.
- Set the number of reports before deletion.
In this mode, the bot not only reports complaints to administrators but can also automatically delete messages.
What to Consider When Configuring
If you set too lenient values:
- Messages will be deleted too quickly.
- There is an increased risk of false positives.
If you set too strict values:
- Automatic deletion will rarely work.
- Complaints will mainly remain a tool for manual moderation.
Recommended Scenarios
Small Chat
It is better to use:
- Enabled reports.
- Manual review without automatic deletion.
This will reduce the risk of accidental deletions.
Medium-Sized Chat with Active Moderation
You can use:
- Enabled reports.
- Moderate automatic deletion.
- Not too low a threshold for the number of reports.
Large Chat with Frequent Spam
It is usually useful to:
- Enable reports.
- Configure automatic deletion.
- Use a stricter threshold for the reliability of reporters.
Briefly, What It Looks Like for Users
After enabling the section, users can report messages using /report.
Then:
- The complaint goes to administrators.
- With automatic deletion configured, the bot can also automatically delete the message.
Important
- An administrator channel is required for reports to work.
- Automatic deletion only works when all three related parameters are fully configured.
- Even if automatic deletion is enabled, complaints are still sent to administrators.
